Gotham City is known as one of the most evil and crime-ridden cities in the entire world.  Ever since the hero known as the Batman arrived one day, dozens upon dozens of villains–some mischievous and harmless, some murderous and criminal–have terrorized the streets of this city.  From the terrifying and mind-controlling Music Meister, the silent and deadly assassin Talon, and the balance-disrupting Count Vertigo, to the silly Condiment King, the powerful and magical Klarion, and the witty archer Arsenal, this city is filled to the brim with villains stalking every corner, looking for trouble.  This guide will show you how to unlock these characters, along with the 11 Gold Bricks and 6 Vehicle Tokens buried in this sleeping and terrifying city.

First, bust open the cracked LEGO wall by the Gotham cathedral.  Then, use a character with illumination inside and walk down to where the tomb is.  Jump on top of the tomb and use chlorokinesis to move the vines out of the way, revealing a graffiti wall.  Blow up the wall with a graffiti character and destroy the chest inside to get your gold brick.

3. Bruce Wayne’s World

Requirement: Already available.

Note: This gold brick is located inside Wayne Tech.

Inside Wayne Tech, use a character with Detective Mode and press the hidden button on the piano in the upper office.  Then, press the newly exposed button hidden behind the staircase.  Then, destroy the two potted trees by the two doors (the left and the right), and build the resulting pieces into button statues.  In addition, destroying the left plant will reveal a drone access door.

Send an explosive drone such as Joker’s through the access door and blow up the silver LEGO piece inside.  This will disable the electric walls around that area, which you can now enter.  Destroy the control panel to reveal two large silver LEGO boxes on the main floor.  Blow up the boxes and build the pieces inside to the remaining two button statues.

Now, you’ll have to set each button to the right color.  Set the furthest left button to blue, the second-to-left button to purple, the second-to-right button to yellow, and the furthest right button to red.  This will reveal your gold brick near the main desk.

4. Riddler Ransack

Requirement: Already available.

LEGO DC Super Villains Gotham Walkthrough Riddler Ransack

First, recruit the two goons and pull open the cracked wall.  Then, destroy all the objects inside the new room and build the pieces into a goon pressure pad.  Use a graffiti character to blow open the opposite wall, then recruit the two new goons and then re-recruit the two old goons.  Use the goon pad to reveal the safe, then use the technology pad.  You’ll have to move the lock so that the passcode 1-9-0-2-1-8 gets typed out through the lock.  The green triangle above the wheel will flash whenever you’ve moved the correct number.  Complete the passcode to retrieve the gold brick!

5. Somebody Call a Plumber?

Requirement: Already available.

LEGO DC Super Villains Gotham Walkthrough Somebody Call A Plumber

Use a character with Detective Vision and X-Ray Vision to solve the pipe puzzle.  You’ll need to reroute the pipes so that there is a connection between the two water tanks in the puzzle.  Completing the puzzle will open up a hidden wall, revealing the gold brick.

6. Diner Destruction

Requirement: Requires Gold Brick #2 “Crypt Raider”

First, disable the air conditioning by grappling the power source on the left side of the diner inside.  Then, tamper with the food by using a telekinesis character to toss some extra “flavor” into the soup.  Finally, turn off the refrigerator by charging up the charging unit near the right side of the diner inside.  Doing all three of these objectives will merit you your gold brick from the henchman.

7. Evidence Extraction

Requirement: Requires Gold Brick #4 “Riddler Ransack”

LEGO DC Super Villains Gotham Walkthrough Evidence Extraction

First, mind control the guard and activate the button inside his booth to open up the gate.  Then, head to the back of the area and destroy the ATM.  Build the resulting pieces into a boomerang pad, and then use it to hit the power source and open up the gate to the safe.  Use an X-Ray character to play the X-ray puzzle.  You’ll need to move the second rod from the left first, then the fourth rod from the left, then the third rod from the left, and finally the first rod from the left.  You can also just use the colors at the top of each rod (yellow, blue, red, purple).  Completing this puzzle will unlock the safe, revealing the gold brick hidden inside.

8. High Sea Hijack

Requirement: Requires Gold Brick #5 “Somebody Call a Plumber?”

LEGO DC Super Villains Gotham Walkthrough High Sea Hijack

Use the crane to pick up the crate in the boat and bring it on to the dock.  Dropping it onto the dock will reveal a chest with a silver lock on it.  Blow up the lock to access the gold brick.

9. Storage Scavenger

Requirement: Requires Character File Quest #4 “Horseradish?  More Like Horse-BAD-ish”

LEGO DC Super Villains Gotham Walkthrough Storage Scavenger

Destroy the blue dumpster next to the thief and build the resulting pieces into a lantern construct pad.  Use the pad to open up the compartment, then destroy the objects on the right side of the compartment to gain access to a drone access door.  Use Joker’s drone to go through the access door and blow up the silver lock.  Note that if you are standing right next to the access door, the drone will go out of range and prematurely explode.  You’ll have to orient yourself as shown in the picture to get enough range.  After blowing up the silver lock, use the drone again to go back into where the gold brick is and collect it.

10. Bat Signal Switch Up

Requirement: Requires Gold Brick #9 “Storage Scavenger”

LEGO DC Super Villains Gotham Walkthrough Bat Signal Switch Up

First, use a character with Hazard Protection/Invulnerability to pull the timed switch in the toxic goo.  You’ll have to pull the lever when the little rotating notch is on the green part of the circle.  Then, destroy the vent shown in the second picture.  Build the pieces into a push lever, and then rotate the bat signal around.  Finally, use a telekinesis character to pull off the bat symbol and then put on the new “Ha Ha Ha” symbol.  The goon will congratulate you and give you a gold brick.

11. Lost Loot

Requirement: Requires Character File Quest #6 “Boogie Bandits”

LEGO DC Super Villains Gotham Walkthrough Lost Loot

First, use a Telekinesis character to pull apart the potted plant.  Then, use a dig character to dig up the pile, exposing your gold brick underneath.

LEGO DC Super Villains Music Meister Unlock

Recruit three singers around the city marked on the map/radar by the yellow minifigure icon.  Return to Music Meister to finish the quest.

Vehicle Tokens (6)

1. Float Like a Bat (Bat-Glider)

Requirement: Already available.

1-float-like-a-bat-bat-glider

This race is a very easy glide race across Gotham City.  Make sure to continually dive down and rise back up to build momentum, making it easier to gain altitude.

2. Bicycle Race (Robin’s Bike)

Requirement: Already available.

2-bicycle-race-robins-bike

This race requires the bicycle vehicle.  Note that the bicycle is very slow and has extreme drag, so make sure to boost while also avoiding sharp turns and abrupt steering.

3. From Gotham to Belle Reve (Batmobile)

Requirement: Already available.

3-from-gotham-to-belle-reve-batmobile

This race will require you to take the SWAT truck all the way from Gotham to Belle Reve.  Note that near the beginning of this race, you will have to drive out of the barely open gate at the GCPD, so make sure to properly pull out of the parking lot.

4. Glide!  Now Run!  Glide!  Now Run! (Jokermobile)

Requirement: Already available.

4-run-now-glide-run-now-glide-jokermobile

This race is a decently difficult acrobatics/gliding race.  Neither part is particularly hard, but if you fall off of the race track (which is very easy to do), you won’t be able to get back up.  Make sure to have a flying character on hand that you can swap to to complete the race if you fail.

5. Flying Tour Around Gotham (Batcopter)

Requirement: Already available.

5-flying-tour-around-gotham-batcopter

This race is a simple gliding race around Gotham.  Near one of the sections, in Chinatown, you will have to glide very close to the ground, so there is a decent chance your character will disable their glide ability.  As such, make sure to have a backup flying character you can use to finish the rest of the race.

6. Bridge Bounce (Penguin’s Duckboat)

Requirement: Requirement unknown.

6-bridge-bounce-penguins-duckboat

This race has a specific requirement to unlock (it is not unlocked immediately), but we were unable to figure out what requirement was.  If this race is not showing up on your map, try doing other activities in the open world (my personal guess is that this race is most likely unlocked via the Iceberg Lounge gold brick in Ace Chemicals/East Gotham.

Now, this race is a very easy boating race under Gotham, ending near the shores of Metropolis.  Note that this is a small boat race, so other boats like the speedboat and batboat will not qualify for this race.  Make sure to avoid veering off the track.
