Sorting Area Level 6

When you land in a new world not already explored in the main story, you will find a short introductory quest line that will take you around the world to meet some of the main characters. Below you will find a quick recap of the introductory quests for this world!

WE SORT ALL DAY BUT OUR WORK IS PLAY

sorting-area

Zooming out of Harmony City, our heroes find that they have ended up in the Sorting Area–a huge, sprawling factory yard dedicated to mixing, sorting, moving, and transporting bricks around the Systar System.  Pretty quickly, you’ll find Benny, who has been brainwashed just like Unikitty and Metalbeard.  He’ll tell you he needs his WELDER.  Find the items for it to unlock a new tool!  The WELDER allows you to cut through special blue bricks and fix broken items.  You’ll talk to the transporter, who informs you that they’ll take you to the Ceremony if you help them collect their cake bricks.  You’ll have to navigate through the treacherous Sorting Area and load cake bricks into the Transporter.  However, upon your final set of bricks, you’ll be surprised by a…

BOSS BATTLE

sortapus

The Sortapus is the same drill as the previous boss fights.  This time, you’ll need to use the buttons that rotate the trays to move the green bricks over to the feeder hand (the green vent that sucks in bricks).  This will stun the Sortapus, which will allow you to jump on their arms and navigate to the top of their head.  It’s the same thing as last time now.  Hit the pink power cells to do some damage to it.  You’ll land back on the trays.  Repeat the same thing, but once it gets to the green bricks the Sortapus will now get angry and shoot rotating beams of mud.  Hide behind the walls of cover on the trays.  Your goal is to get over to the tray of pink bricks.  Once you get there, the Sortapus will suck up the pink cake bricks, get a little…”woozy,” and allow you to walk up to its neck, where you will attack the other power cells and finish up the fight.

Sorting Area Mission Guide

Every world in the LEGO Movie 2 Video Game has characters that need your help! These missions have different rewards ranging from a Master Piece to a rare or unique build. Here is the guide for the missions in this world:

Architecture Assembly

1-architecture-assembly

This Duplon needs you to put together the statue of his friend!  You can use the Tractor Beam to stack the pieces on top of each other in the space they go.  Complete the statue to finish the mission.

Reward: Master Piece

Tunnel Escort

2-tunnel-escort

Near the tunnel you break open to free the trapped workers at the beginning of the level, there will be a Duplon who needs you to escort you through the tunnel.  Walk to the other end of the tunnel to complete the mission.  Note: the Duplon is technically too tall to fit through the tunnel and will hit an invisible wall trying to get into the tunnel.  If you just walk through the tunnel, it will teleport to where you are and finish the quest.

Reward: Master Piece

Album Capture

3-album-capture

This guy wants some pictures of his friends for his photo album!  He wants three pictures, one of each of his friends around the Sorting Area.  The people you need to take pictures of are the large, tall, Duplo “titans.”  Follow the objective markers around the map.  After taking each picture, you will receive a Master Piece.

Reward: Three Master Pieces

Looking For Survivors

6-looking-for-survivors

In the second cake brick area, you will find a firefighter looking for three other Bricksburg civilians.  Each one of these civilians can be found around the area and will have their own mission that requires you to escort them to the firefighter.  Bring each of them back to him to finish the mission.

Reward: Master Piece

Construction Rescue

7-construction-rescue

Escort this Construction Worker to the Firefighter to collect a Master Piece.

Reward: Master Piece

Doctor Rescue

8-doctor-rescue

Escort this Doctor to the Firefighter to collect a Master Piece.

Reward: Master Piece

Chef Rescue

9-chef-rescue

Escort this Chef to the Firefighter to collect a Master Piece.

Reward: Master Piece

Excavation Innovation

10-excavation-innovation

This mission has two parts.  First, you will need to build some THUMPERS to break apart the piles of dirt.  This will complete the first part of the mission, rewarding you with a Crane Object Build and a Master Piece.  The second part of the mission requires you to place three of these new Cranes in the highlighted area.  Doing so will complete the mission.

Reward: Two Master Pieces, Alien Crane Build

Botany Builder

12-botany-builder

This is another two-part mission.  First, you’ll need to build some SPRINKLERS and water the flowers.  After they’re fully grown (you’ll have to wait a few seconds), talk to the mission giver again and he’ll reward you your first Master Piece.  Talk to him again to start the combat mission.  You’ll have to defeat all the enemies that show up to finish the mission.

Reward: Two Master Pieces

Painting Partner

14-painting-partner

This guy’s decorators didn’t paint his container door!  Use the PAINT WAND to paint it Green, which will complete the mission.

Reward: Master Piece

Forgot Your Lunch?

15-forgot-your-lunch

This Duplon’s wife forgot her lunch this morning.  He’ll hand you a Worker’s Lunch.  Follow the objective marker to his wife’s location to give the lunch to her, completing the mission.

Reward: Master Piece

Demolition Crew

16-demolition-crew

Time for a Demolition Derby!  This is a fairly simple quest, you’ll need to destroy all the boxes in the storage area indicated by the Duplon to finish the quest.

Reward: Master Piece

Scrapbook Scrapping

17-scrapbook-snapping

This is probably the most easily confusing quest in this area.  This quest will not activate until you entirely complete the Photo Album mission.  Once you complete the final part of that mission, you will get a special sticker.  You need to have this sticker to open up this mission.  Once you have the sticker, you can talk to this Duplon near the teleporter.  He will ask you to shoot this sticker onto his scrapbook wall.  Doing so will finish the mission.

Reward: Master Piece

Sorting Area Race Guide

Each world has a handful of races you can complete to unlock Master Piece bricks and other random collectibles. Here is a full break down of the races found in this world!

Sorting Area Lap

1-sorting-area-lap

This is another two-part race.  The first race requires you to run to the crane area, do a loop, then run back, and the second race is thirty seconds shorter and requires you to run through the (quite dangerous) barrel pipe that you can see in the back right of this picture.  I would suggest not using a vehicle on both of these challenges due to the terrain and track.

Qualifying Time – 1:30

Champion Time – 1:00

Reward: Two Master Pieces, Cleopatra’s Temple Super Build

Sorting Area Chest Locations

Each world has several spots where chests will automatically generate. Each chest is full of studs and important Relics you must collect to unlock everything in the game. There are dozens of chests in each level, so many that it’s hard to write them down! You can see each chest’s exact location by looking at the minimap on each screenshot. Below is a list of all the locations in this world where you can find a chest!

Sorting Area World Unlocks

Certain collectibles like characters, items and vehicles can only be unlocked in specific worlds by completing specific quests or from that world’s store. Below is a list of exclusives only found in this world!
