LEGO Game Freeze Or Glitch? Here’s What To Do!

LEGO Games, much like many other big titles, can be known for being a bit buggy, glitchy or freezy sometimes. We know it can be incredibly frustrating to be playing through a long involved mission, only to glitch out in the middle of a boss battle or near the end of the level leaving you to quit and lose all your progress.

Warning! Use this tip at your own risk. It always works for me, but some older LEGO Games or a weird bug may cause this to not work and restart the level. But it’s certainly better than nothing.

So if you get stuck in a level, don’t want to lose all your progress, and you need help…

Here’s what to do:

  • Make absolutely sure you aren’t just stuck because you don’t know how to solve the puzzle or beat the boss.

  • OPTION 1 – If your game or console is frozen / locked.
    • Power off your console.
      • (If you’re game is saving, wait for it to finish before powering down.)
    • Restart your console.
  • OPTION 2 – If the level is  just glitched / bugged but is still playable.
    • Exit to console home screen.
      • (If you’re game is saving, wait for it to finish before powering down.)
    • Select active LEGO Game.
    • Force Quit / Close Application
  • Start LEGO Game.
  • Continue your save.

You will be dropped at the most recent checkpoint you encountered in the game when you select the option to “Continue Game” from the menu.

Most LEGO Game levels are sectioned off into load areas / checkpoints, and by reseting your console (and not actually quitting your active gameplay) you will be sent back to that load point when you renter the gameplay.

Warning! Use this tip at your own risk. It always works for me, but some older LEGO Games or a weird bug may cause this to not work and restart the level. But it’s certainly better than nothing.
