January 28th is the official birthday of the LEGO Brick based on the patent dates. This year we celebrate the 60th Birthday of the LEGO Brick and LEGO Worlds was kind enough to give US a birthday present. Head over to the Brick Build Showcase and download a special LEGO Brick 60TH Birthday Build. Too bad they didn’t make it “Showcase Model (60).”
This build doesn’t have any discoverable objects or characters but it is very detailed.
The large scale brick is a replica of the classic 2×4 red LEGO Brick.
Each side of the brick has 60 years “engraved” in gold letters with a silhouette of a brick underneath.
The back side of the huge brick has the raised studs with each one spelling out LEGO in plates.
The front of the build represents the bottom of a normal brick. This is where the build shines. Each of the three support columns has a set built from a classic LEGO theme.
The column at the top of the brick contains a Classic Space theme. There is a large space ship coming out of the tube.
If you take a look inside the tube you will see a second, smaller ship and a bunch of stars.
Working our way down the brick, the second tube contains a classic LEGO train. If you go inside the tube, you will see a nice landscape and a small scale plane flying above the train.
The lowest tube represents the Pirate theme. There is a pirate ship coming out of the bottom tube that appears to be going over a waterfall.
The detail of the waterfalls “splash” is awesome. It looks like the spray that comes off a real waterfall.
The waterfall from the bottom tube cascades down into the castle’s moat.
The bottom of the build contains a mini-castle and a hidden treasure chest. Just don’t look for it here because X does not mark the spot for this treasure.
