New Massive LEGO Star Wars Game Leaked at Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration was this weekend, and along with a huge host of awesome announcements for Star Wars fans such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Vader Immortal, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, we also got a leak for the next LEGO game.  In an off-stage interview with Matt Wood, the voice actor for General Grievous and supervising sound editor at Skywalker Sound, the production studio which does all sound design and production for LucasFilm, and particularly for Star Wars films, mentioned a new LEGO Star Wars game in development launching later this year.  A bit of this interview was posted on the Instagram fan account the_first_order, and you can see the video mentioned here.

Rumors of a new LEGO Star Wars game have been floating around for the past year.  Most journalist outlets have known about this for a while, including us at Bricks To Life.  We can expect that this new game will contain the contents of the Sequel Trilogy, most likely with a campaign spread across the events of The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker.  However, many other outlets have mentioned that this new game has been described as a “ambitious project” and labeled by other sites as “an incredibly massive game.”  Allen Tran of The Brick Fan reports that it is “the most important game TT has made” and that it features “procedurally generated worlds, similar to what LEGO Worlds uses, to explore in space while using hundreds of characters to play as.”

We can confirm that the game has all nine movies, the two anthology movies, and some of the TV content such as The Clone Wars.  Anything beyond that is speculation at this point until we get the full announcement trailer, which following previous patterns, should drop sometime over the next month and a half.  The Fall LEGO titles usually get announced in May just prior to E3.  I, personally, would expect the last week of May given that’s when DC Super Villains and Marvel Super Heroes 2 were announced.

Finally, with this game on the way, it could be possible that we’ll get a rerelease of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga and LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars in a remastered package, similar to the Harry Potter collection and also the LEGO Marvel Collection.  Do you have any hopes or expectations for this new LEGO Star Wars game?  What kind of content do you hope to see?  Let us know down in the comments!
